Barielle Cashmere or Loose Me with Essie Braziliant in Argyle

I mentioned yesterday that in addition to swatching the Barielle Style in Argyle collection I also messed around with some nail art that I will show you over the next few days. For this manicure, I was inspired by the collection's name and decided to try the argyle pattern on my nails.

I started out with Barielle Cashmere or Loose Me which I paired up with Essie Braziliant in an argyle pattern. Green lines were added using acrylic paint. It looked a bit bland so I topped the whole thing off with Essie Pure Pearlfection. I can't quite decide which version I like best, so I will show you both and hopefully you can tell me what you think. This is topped with the luxeffects polish...

UPDATE: Tutorial for this manicure available here.

This is what it looked like before I added Essie Pure Pearlfection...

I would love to know what you think. Which version do you like better (if at all)...

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

  6. I have a completely random (or maybe not so random question) for you.. To start, I love your nail art! You make me want to order stamps!! hehe I actually got hooked on your blog via Pinterest, someone had pinned your wolf halloween nails and it was just amazing! My question is.. what do you do to paint your dominant hand? Do you just choose one hand for your accent when doing freehand designs or are you that amazingly talented that you can freehand on both hands?! Thanks :)

  8. This is cute! I think I just like it with the shiny better. Have you ever tried a matte top coat? That would probably look awesome on this!

  10. Wow, you did a great job on the argyle print! I think the "Pearlfection-version" is interesting, but I have to say I like the version without the pearly glitter much better :)

@Andrea, wow, thank you so much. I'm so glad that you like it. To answer your question, I like my hands to match so if I'm doing a full manicure, they will have the same design. With that said, some of these never make it to a full manicure. Sometimes this because of time restriction and sometimes just because I love just playing with polish and want to try something else. Freehand on my dominant hand always is very time consuming and doesn't look as good, but I still try because with practice hopefully it will improve. Stamping, dotting, tape, etc I can do pretty well on both. And I always try to find ways to "cheat" and make things easier. I have a few tutorials that will hopefully help! :D

@Collegiate Nail, thank you so much! I love the pattern.. next time smaller argyle print on the nails :D

  15. Love the argyle look and you did great with it. I prefer it with the Pearlfection over it, though I'd love to see the whole thing matted out and with a gold tip. Or maybe that will just make it too busy. Either way LOVE IT!

  16. I know you said how you did it, but I'd actually love to see a tutorial on how you made the argyle.

  17. @Courtney, I think it would look great matted as well. I will work on putting together a tutorial soon :)
