It is Sunday, which means challenge day in the group Adventures in Stamping. The majority of people voted to take on a challenge of black and white stamping. I must admit, I was a bit disappointed at first since I'm already doing a full ten day Black and White Challenge, but then I realized that I have not actually done a stamped black and white manicure so I'm playing along.
For this manicure I started out with a base of two coats of Nicole by OPI Others Pale by Kim-Parison followed by one coat of Nicole by OPI Lights Kim-era, Action! The layering of the two results in a pretty pearly white with a slight green shimmer. I will have full swatches up in a few days. For the stamp I really wanted a damask pattern. The closest that I have is the Red Angel plate RA-120 which I used here. Since it is not a full nail stamp, I stamped as close to the cuticles as possible and added a black tip to fill in the rest of the space. Both the stamping and the tip were done using Wet 'n Wild Black Creme.
I seemed to be having alignment issues yesterday and a few of the nails had to be redone (more than once), but in the end I'm really happy with how this manicure turned out...
I would love to know what you think of this manicure!
Are you tired of black an white yet? If so, I must warn you that another one is coming up today ;)
Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)
This is gorgeous, you stamping is flawless! I don't think I could ever tire of black and white manicures, it's such a classic combo!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love this!
ReplyDeleteWow looks awesome
ReplyDeleteThis looks way better than the mani I did with this stamp! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteКласс! Мне почему-то напомнил сарафан княгини какой-то, причем зимний, получается не сарафан, а шубу расшитую. Есть в узоре что-то русское ))
ReplyDeleteThis is cute! I love it! I could never get tied of black and white.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I like the black tips with this stamp. And not tired yet, I'm loving the black and white looks! :D
ReplyDeleteReally pretty... I really love your blog and designs... :)
ReplyDeleteI always LOVE your stamped manicures and nail art. You're so good at it :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much girls! I'm glad you like this and glad that you are not tired of black and white yet :D
ReplyDelete@Antallex, ti prova, chtoto takoe tut est'. A vot bili kogdato takie krasivie shubu... :)
This is genious! When I saw the stamping I thought... I wonder what plate she used... and then I realized that I have this set! The black tips are incredible! Great way to accent a "short" stamp :D
ReplyDeleteGENIOUS!
@Marta, thank you so much! I keep trying to find ways to use those small images :D
ReplyDeleteWow. I know you said you had to re-do a few of the stamps, but how did you get them aligned so perfectly? Do you roll across the nail or stamp straight down?
ReplyDeleteI would love any tips - I've been trying to get this one design to run straight down the nail and can not get it to line up right.
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time with it as well. As I mentioned, I kept redoing a few of them. I roll the stamper across the nail trying to follow the edge of the nail. It is not a perfect system. I wish someone would invent a clear stamper as they have for regular stamping...
I'm in love with this mani, it looks like my living room wallpaper! I have to get these plates. They don't seem to ship to the UK so I'm off to beg a favour from a blogger friend in LA.... :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I hope your friend is able to send them :)
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of polish did you use for the stamping? My polishes always seem too thin, or I press too hard and they spread.
ReplyDeleteI use regular polishes for stamping. The thicker creams work well and the foil ones work well also.
ReplyDeleteFor the black & white, I use Wet 'n Wild Black Creme and French White Creme. If they are too think when I get them, I leave the top cracked open for a while and let them thicken up. Works well.
I try to make sure to mention which polishes I used for stamping for each manicure, so if you are interested in a particular manicure hopefully the answer is in the text :)
