Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween Lovelies! You may have noticed a lack of Halloween designs from me this year. It is actually one of my favorite holidays for nail art, but since I was out of town this year, I missed out on the fun. Of course I couldn't miss the actual day itself and the opportunity to have some creepy crawlies glowing on my nails...

For this manicure I started out with a black base of OPI Who Are You Calling Bossy?!?. I then added three coats of Pure Ice Glow in the Dark top coat. Finally, I finished the manicure off with simple water decals from the Born Pretty Store. Sadly these decals are no longer available, but they do have similar ones in stock. This look can also be achieved with stamping as I have done in the past...

The water decals are easy to work with. As long as they are wet, there is plenty of time to preposition and get the correct placement. When using multiple decals as I did on the ring finger, I like to position one at a time and "set" them by blotting with a paper towel before applying the next one. This helps ensure that I don't have two decals sliding around on the nail at once...

Pure Ice Glow in the Dark
This glow in the dark top coat can be layered over any base color. It is comprised of tiny glowing specks and took three coats to get a good glow. It is very similar, if not a dupe, to the SinfulColors glow in the dark top coat. I do wish it didn't require so many coats because they take a long time to dry. A quick dry top coat ended up shrinking the layers (as you might notice in my final nail art).
