El Corazon Shine of Jewels

Hi Everyone! Today I would like to show you nail art that I created recently while I was swatching an El Corazon beauty. Although I didn't have anything specific in mind when I started out, I was mesmerized (and I'll show you why) by a dragon featured on the bottle label. I picked a stamping design that reminded me of dragon scales and embellished from there...

To create this manicure, I started out with a base of El Corazon Shine of Jewels No. 624. You can see full swatches of this polish a bit further in this post. I stamped using Lily Anna stamping plate 04 with Maybelline Bold Gold (70).

Of course the name 'Shine of Jewels' reminded me of yet another jewel and so I decided it was a sign that Sea Jewel had to be involved. Using a small nail art brush, I added little bits of piCture pOlish Sea Jewel to the design in a diagonal pattern...

The resulting design reminds me of rich textiles, whose origins I can't seem to place at the moment...

El Corazon Shine of Jewels 624
A burnt orange jelly with gold glass flecks. Application of this it typical for a pigmented jelly. It starts out fairly sheer and builds up to full coverage at 3 coats. Presumably it is sheer to allow the gorgeous gold flecks to shine through. This color screams Fall to me, reminding me of delicious pumpkin pastries and fallen leaves. I know I'll be reaching for this shade again and again when that season comes back around. Swatches are with no top coat...

And now for the mesmerizing part that I mentioned in the beginning. The label on the bottle is the most amazing holographic treat for the eyes. I don't know how long I sat there staring at it. The logo and dragon from one angle...

...and then the ever-changing star burst from another...
