Whats Up Nails Vinyls and Dazzle Dry Pastels

Hi Everyone!!

I am slowly continuing to make my way through folders of unposted nail art. It is kind of fun to go back and remember those manicures. It has also been inspiring me to keep playing around and making more nail art. I debated splitting this post into a few different ones, but eventually decided it would be better as one. All three of the manicures that I will show today use nail vinyls from Whats Up Nails and the pastel shades from Dazzle Dry Sweethearts collection whose swatches I posted a couple of days ago.

Chevrons!
First up is a manicure created using chevron nail vinyls...

Dazzle Dry Sweethearts

Hi Everyone!

Today I have swatches to share with you which are long, long, looong overdue. This beautiful pastel Dazzle Dry Sweethearts collection released for Spring 2015. I managed to get it swatched before my unexpected haitus, but I'm shamefully just now going through photos from that time. I do hope that you won't hold it against me to much and enjoy the swtaches instead ;)

365 Days of Color In Full Bloom Spring Collection

Hi Everone! Today I have for you swatches of the Spring collection by 365 Days of Color named In Full Bloom. The collection features sweet pastels with a subtle holographic shimmer and a glitter topper that looks fantastic over any of them! I always love the lighter colors of spring as they are the perfect break between dark winter shades and bright summer ones. This collection really just nails that spring feeling for me and the soft pastels are perfection...

JENsations Custom Blended Nail Polish...

Today I would like to show you three fun and unique glitter blends from Jen of JENsations. These glitter mixes come packaged in equally unique and absolutely adorable star shaped bottles. The bottles are flat so they are super easy and compact for storage, but I'm sure you don't care to hear me ramble about bottles so let's get onto the swatches...

Polish Days: Something New - Sugar Spun Nails

To coincide with the beginning of a new year, this month's Polish Days theme is to try something new. Trying new things is actually one of the reasons why I really love participating in challenges. It gives me the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and play around with new colors and techniques. It may not always work out, but it is always a chance to learn and experiment.

For this challenge I decided to try creating a sugar spun manicure, a technique that has long been on my "to try" list. As so many other things on that list, I don't often make time for it unless I'm challenged to do so. I'm happy to show you my first attempt...

Happy Year of the Dragon!

My bf's mom made this adorable little dragon that she gave us to welcome the Year of the Dragon. It is the cutest little thing and I instantly wanted to match a manicure it. Sadly, my computer decided to be stubborn and I couldn't get this posted yesterday for the 1st day of the year. My bf spent the day reinstalling the whole system and all the programs, but now I'm back to show you this cute little guy...

For the manicure I used Sinful Colors Unicorn which was just a touch darker than the little guy, but the closet color I have. Then, I and added a little ruffle design to the side of the nail using Sparitual Delight, to match the dragon's ruffle "spine". It is such a sweet color combination. Makes me think of spring :)

Just a few shots of Sinful Colors Unicorn on it's own. I've swatched it before, but let's just say I shudder when I look at those photos... so I a fresh set of swatches was in order. Unicorn is a pastel yellow cream. It is one of the only yellows that I can really wear. It took three coats to even out the color and get full coverage. The only problem with this polish is that it stains the nails yellow, but I learned that lesson last time so I had a nice base coat underneath and it seemed to help. This is three coats with a top coat...

Swatch Details

Thanks for looking and Happy Year of the Dragon!
Anutka :)
