Needle Drag...

Hi Everyone! Today I have another manicure for you that has been unposted for quite some time. I created this while swatching the Nicole by OPI new 2014 lacquers. I have wanted to try needle drag nail art for a while, but my few previous attempts were less than appealing and never even got in front of the camera. This is the first decent one that I've been able to create and although it looks messy, I'm quite proud of it...

For this manicure, I used two Nicole by OPI shades from the new 2014 lacquers. The two shades are Nicole by OPI At Least I Pink So and Oh That's Just Grape!.

To create this look, I applied the pink polish to one side of the nail and lilac to the other. While the polish was still wet I used a needle to swirl the two. It sounds easy in theory (or maybe it doesn't, in which case try searching youtube to see it in action), but is quite messy in reality. The polish needs to be really wet for it to swirl rather than drag. I'm certainly nowhere near perfecting this technique, but at least this result encourages me to keep trying...

What do you think of my needle drag mani attempt?
Is there a technique that you would like to perfect, but it makes you nervous?

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

  5. Very pretty! I will have to try that. I need to try stamping decals again too. I only did the little pandas, and I wasn't totally happy with the bubbles around the edge of the decal.

  6. This looks awesome! I watched a few videos already and it does look pretty easy, but I haven't tried it yet. The colour combo is great! I agree with Viktoria up there, you're too harsh on yourself, this is perfect! <3
