Hi Everyone! Today I would like to show you another El Corazon Rainbow beauty and the spring time nail art that it inspired. I've been in the mood for subtle nail art lately and this monochromatic look fit the bill perfectly. I have been wearing this for the past few days and really enjoying the delicate flowers and fine holo in the base...

Mont Bleu Nail Files and Accessories Review...
Hi Everyone! I was recently lucky enough to be given the opportunity to review a couple of Mont Bleu crystal nail files. I have long been admiring and wanting to try these files, but trying to pick out a design to order was more than I could handle. Anyone who knows me well will tell you just how indecisive I am and one look at the seemingly infinite variety of designs available left me unable to commit. Luckily someone else ended up making the decision for me (who knew it was so easy?) and I was also happily surprised to receive a foot file, tweezers and some earrings. All of them in a beautiful coordinating blue...

Nicole by OPI Be Awesome Glitter Placement
Hi Lovies! Today I would like to show you a manicure that I created last month while swatching the Nicole by OPI 2014 lacquers. The diamond glitter in Be Awesome is fun when brushed/dabbed on in a random pattern, but like so many others, I couldn't resist picking out the glitter from this lacquer and doing some arranging...

Head Over Heels Down the Aisle...
Hi Everyone! Today I would like to show you a bit of an experiment. I created this while swatching the Dazzle Dry Do You Love Me? collection. Two of the polishes in the collection have similar golden flecks and I felt compelled to somehow combine them. Rather than sponging a smooth gradient, I wanted to try dry brushing a rough one...

Roughled Turquoise...
Hi Everyone! Today I would like to show you a manicure which I consider a bit of a happy accident. I had been wearing the Nicole by OPI On What Grounds? for a few days after swatching it and as I often do, I decided to play around with nail art before removing it. It always gives me the freedom to try various things without the fear that I need to make it perfect. Most often I end up with a different design on each nail. The ones that turn out well get stored somewhere in my brain to try out later and the whole mess usually gets promptly removed. This time however, I liked the idea enough to try it out right away, despite the visible (at least to me) nail growth. I think this looks a bit like marble or turquoise...

Every time I think that I've seen it all when it comes to texture, I'm happily surprised with new colors and effects. Such is the case with the Nicole by OPI Roughles (pronounced "ruffles") which I would like to show you today. These pastel matte textured shades are a refreshing change from the usual sparkle loaded or solid color textures lacquers. These are so sweet for spring. They make me think of yummy berry yogurt...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all my lovely readers who celebrate the holiday! I'm not Irish and have no plans to go out and celebrate, but that doesn't mean I won't use this as an excuse to wear my greens. I was short on time yesterday so I created this simple and fun manicure to wear today. Honestly this is all in an effort to avoid getting pinched! ;)

Safari Skittlette...
I realize my post title might be a bit misleading. This manicure really doesn't conjure up images of a safari, but hear me out. I was swatching the beautiful Color Club Safari Garden collection and I kept getting sidetracked on Instagram because I'm addicted to it (ps. come say hi to me @wackylaki). I came across this skittlette manicure and decided to try it out with the Color Club Safari Garden shades I had in front of me, hence the name Safari Skittlette.
I often admire skittlette manicures, but I'm a big chicken when it comes to trying out my own. Semi-copying someone else seemed like good baby steps. I'm not sure how I feel about it though, so tell me what you think...

Happy International Women's Day!
It is March 8th which means International Women's Day! I wish all the wonderful women out there a day filled with love, happiness and good fortune!
It seemed appropriate to show you a flowery manicure today. I actually created this a few weeks ago in response to a prompt by Nail It! magazine for a chance to be featured in the next issue. I won't know if this made it into the magazine or not until it hits the news stands in a few months, but regardless I'm quite excited about how it turned out...

Hi Everyone! I must confess that I'm a pretty bad swatcher. Whenever I swatch a collection, I get sidetracked and start dreaming up nail art ideas. I make no apologies though since I love bringing such spur of the moment ideas to life. This is one of the manicures that I created while swatching the new Nicole by OPI 2014 shades which I showed you yesterday...

Press Release: Muppets Most Wanted by OPI
Show-Stopping Shades!
OPI Celebrates the Muppets with Limited Edition Nail Lacquers Inspired
by Disney’s New Film Muppets Most Wanted
OPI announces the launch of eight new limited edition nail lacquers inspired by Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted. With an all-star cast including Kermit the Frog, Constantine, Ricky Gervais, Miss Piggy, Ty Burrell, Tina Fey and the whole Muppet gang, this family comedy is directed by James Bobin and written by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller. Muppets Most Wanted opens in theaters on March 21, 2014.
“The Muppets are a fun-loving, colorful cast of characters. These eight new nail lacquers were inspired by their latest adventures in Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted, which include a glamorous international stage tour – and lots of surprises,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder & Executive VP. “Fashionable Miss Piggy is represented through soft pink, peach and pearlescent hues, as well as a frosty sapphire blue – Miss Piggy’s Big Number – to match her fabulous tour gown. The remaining four shades highlight the film’s unexpected elements and include a color-shifting mauve and three sparkle-packed lacquers – including my personal favorite Gaining Mole-mentum, a gold and rose chunky shredded glitter.”
Muppets Most Wanted by OPI includes the following shades:
Muppets World Tour
This white quartz with colorful sparkle is a global sensation.
Miss Piggy’s Big Number
Stand back… Miss Piggy’s on sapphire!
I Love Applause
This sheer, sweet pink deserves a standing ovation.
Let’s Do Anything We Want!
There’s no holding back this rose gold glitter with white confetti.
Kermit Me to Speak
Listen up… I’ve got lots to say about this rosy mauve.
Gaining Mole-mentum
Make your beauty mark with this shredded gold and chunky pink glitter.
Int’l Crime Caper
To miss this opalescent pearl would be the crime of the century.
Chillin' Like a Villain
My evil plan… to get away with this precious, sheer nude.
Muppets Most Wanted by OPI nail lacquer shades each feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application. Muppets Most Wanted will be available March 2014, at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $9.00 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail.

ABOUT DISNEY’S “MUPPETS MOST WANTED”
Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon. Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” is directed by James Bobin and produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. Bobin co-wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Stoller, who is also executive producer with John G. Scotti. El Corazon Shine of Jewels
Hi Everyone! Today I would like to show you nail art that I created recently while I was swatching an El Corazon beauty. Although I didn't have anything specific in mind when I started out, I was mesmerized (and I'll show you why) by a dragon featured on the bottle label. I picked a stamping design that reminded me of dragon scales and embellished from there...

Stamping Trick: Cleanup With Tape...
Hi There! Today's little trick/tutorial has been waiting to be posted since back in August of last year when I created this dotty trees manicure. I can't believe that I'm just now getting around to posting this. Shame on me! :)
I picked up this trick from a stamping group, Adventures in Stamping and thought I would pass it on to all of you. I pretty sure it was first posted by Beaching Nails who is the guru on all sorts of stamping tricks. I learn so much from her and encourage everyone to follow her. Be warned though, she will make you want every stamping plate ever made!
