Sunday Stamping Fail!

Today is Sunday Stamping in the facebook group Adventures in Stamping. The challenge for today is National Pet Week which I took to mean anything with a pet. I had a beautiful manicure in mind centered around the stubborn little kitty below. Only problem was I couldn't get him to stamp. Believe me, I tried! I used every stamper I could. Tried pressing lightly vs hard. Tried stamping straight vs rolling the stamper. Nothing worked! All I got were a few spots and part of the tail... such a stubborn kitty!

We'll see if I calm down enough to attempt a different mani or just sit this challenge out...

Thanks for looking!

  3. Bummer that kitty wouldn't play right. It's such a cute stamp! You definitely can't say it's your stamper or your technique, though. Hope it decides to cooperate for you!

  4. Some stamps are just defective. Dont let it bring you down.

  5. That is just crazy. I hate that kind of plates.
Maybe you should try it with a different polish. Maybe this one is to thick and image is too shallow and transfer isn't good.

  6. I have a couple of those plates too... I think the images are too detailed and engraved not deep enough... Shitty plates! :)

  7. This is funny! My sister had a stamping fail last night and we were just dying of laughter! All you have to do is try again, right? :)

  9. Is this the born pretty plate that has Hello Kitty on it? I can NEVER get that one to work either if I'm right... either way, that's the worst :(

  10. I got some cheap free image plates with a new scrapper&stamper i bought, and I was having so much trouble getting the image onto the stamper... was about to throw them out when i realised that they still had the protective plastic cover on them. In my defence, these platse weren't like what I'd purchased i the past and the plastic was clear! :P I can laugh about it now, but i always check new plates for the plastic now! lol

  11. Thank so much for your support and suggestions everyone. I will try using a thinner polish and ones that dries slower... at some point. For now I'm steering clear of this image. Found some new kitties to play with :)

  12. Can you please name some plates with kitties on them (including this one, even if you had trouble with it)? I'm a huge cat lover :3

  13. @Sam, I only have a few plates with kitties on them. This is one of them. The other two I have are Bundle Monster plate BM02 and Shany plate SH08. I used them in this manicure later that day: http://wackylaki.blogspot.com/2012/05/sunday-stamping-pet-day.html

If you are on Facebook, I would suggest joining the group Adventures in Stamping. The ladies there would be able to suggest more kitty plates for sure! :D
