OPI When Monkeys Fly Glitter Jelly Sandwich...

Happy International Woman's Day Ladies!

I am ashamed to say that I completely forgot about today's special occasion and prepared nothing appropriate to show you. Instead I would like to show you a little layering experiment with two shades from the OPI Oz The Great and Powerful collection which I showed yesterday. While swatching, I was the least thrilled about these two particular shades, but there was something about them that prompted me to experiment further. In sandwiching the two together, I changed my mind about both of them and I must say I do like the resulting look. Playing off of the name of the glitter polish, When Monkeys Fly!, I couldn't resist stamping a little monkey accent...

I started out with OPI Glints of Glinda topped with OPI When Monkeys Fly! from yesterday. As the final layer I added one coat of Glints of Glinda plus a top coat to complete the glitter sandwich. Adding this top half of the sandwich simultaneously tamed the curly glitter and reached full opacity for the base color thereby resolving my only hesitation for the two of them. I realize that is one crazy twisted train of though, but somehow it seems so logical to me...

The embedded glitter reminds me of gold coins which I think is just a perfect background to surround a little monkey. Coincidentally, I realized that I don't have too many monkey stamps, so I was happy to find one on the new Gals set. I stamped using Gals plate GA45 and China Glaze Instant Chemistry...

What do you think of this glitter jelly sandwich combination?

Thanks for looking and commenting!
