I started out with Color Club Twiggie on the ring finger and on the tips. Once that was dry, I went over it with OPI Shatter the Scales* which cracked perfectly to replicate the pattern on the watermelon rind. After adding the slightly wonky white stripes (did I mention I was doing this at 1am?) and top coat, this manicure was good to go. It is not perfect, but watermelons aren't either :)
I first created a version without the accent nail, but the overly crooked white line on the ring finger was driving me nuts so I added the accent nail you see in the photos above. I'm still undecided if I like it better with or without an accent nail...
Which version do you like better? Any thoughts on accent nails in general?
Let me know what you think of this! :)
Ahh, this makes me crave summer even more! Where's the sunshine?
Thanks for looking!

I like the watermelon accent!I've only really got into accent nails lately. They work sometimes but other times they look so out of place it can ruin the mani.
I like it more with the accent nail. It's perfect.
That's so cool! Love it!
I like it best with the accent nail, too, but I'm an accent nail type of girl usually :) Where on earth did you get shatter the scales? I have been on the hunt for it!
This is one of the most awesome manis I have ever seen!!! I love how delicious it looks!
I like it best with the accent nail, it really looks like the outside of a watermelon! That being said, I'm not an accent nail girl myself. I've never done it and just won't try it. Not my style, but I often love it on others!
@Cuti-CLUE-les, Thank you! I fee the same way, sometimes the contrast is too much. I think these go together since the tips of other nails are the same :)
@Taya, I'm glad you like it. I think I'm just not used to accent nails on me. Love them on other people :)
@Natalie, thank you sweetie :)
@BeatyScraps, Thank you! I got it for review, but I have seen it at my local ULTA. It should also be available at Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret...
@Nat, thank you so much! I must have been craving watermelon :)
I love the accent nail! And I really hate shatter polishes but making them be the rind for a watermelon is a genius idea!!!!
@Erin, I'm glad you like this one! I'm hesitant to use accents as well :)
@cky1321, thank you! I'm glad you like it. It was certainly easier than trying to draw the pattern :D
That shatter worked perfectly for the rind!!
I think this is so creative. I like both versions perhaps the leaning towards with an accent nail. I can't do my nails as prefect as that at 1am, they look great! xx
SHUT THE DOOR!!! THIS IS SO COOL!!!!
Accent nails rock! =) What a great mani, I really like it.
gorgeous polish, and such an appropriate manicure with it :-D
love the one with accent nail better :-D
This is so cute!
Tasty!
This looks so amazing! Best use of shatter polish I've ever seen. :D
Accent nails can sometimes be hit or miss, but this one looks amazeballs.
Super fun accent!
I love me a good accent nail and your full crackled watermelon is the yummiest I've seen by far! What a great idea!!!!!
It looks like the accent nail was the clear winner for you ladies. Thank you so much for your opinions and lovely comments. I really appreciate them :)
Love it, and the accent nail totally works for this mani :)
Thank you so much! I'm happy that you like it. I should try accent nails more often :D
