Cascading Glitter

Hi Lovelies! Today I have another manicure to show you with a couple of polishes from the Dazzle Dry Global Beat Fall collection. I'm not sure if there is a name of this glitter gradient look, but cascading glitter sounded rather fancy to me so I'm sticking with it. The manicure itself is fairly simple to create, but gives such a fun sparkle accent.

Barielle Unraveled Rust Gets Rusty...

The last polish from the Barielle Argyle in Style collection that I played with was Unraveled Rust. I loved the rich dark chocolate brown, but it really didn't make think of rust, so I decided to change that. After googing images of rust, I found one that I loved and used it as my inspiration. To get the look I used a combination of sponging, dry brush, and even crackle. It seemed as though I threw every polish I own into the mix. Probably couldn't do it again even if I tried. In the process, I discovered that I don't have quite the right turquoise blue to really make it pop, however I still love how it turned out....

This is the inspiration image, which I found here. I love the colors in this. Really wish I had the right blue to make it stand out. Guess there is always room on the wish list for more colors...

Ulta - Chocolate Kiss

Ulta's Chocolate Kiss from the Salon Formula line is a rich chocolate brown with a coppery brown shimmer. As with the other polishes in this line, the slightly flattened brush and formula are great. Two coats for full coverage. Such a yummy color! :)

I did try to stamp over it with gold, but that was a disaster that I will not be showing you today. I have been playing with some of the new Red Angel stamping plates that I got and I'm convinced that they hate me. Not a single attempt transferred the full image. Has anyone else had this problem? So sad :(

Sinful Colors - Dusk

I wanted to show you this beauty that is Sinful Colors Dusk. I used it yesterday for the leopard mani and decided to show a full swatch today. It is a reddish brown with lots of copper micro-glitter/shimmer. I'm loving it right now. Kind of makes me ready for fall.

This is two coats plus a top coat in the sunshine...

Sinful Colors Unicorn with Essence Just In Case

I first got introduced to nail polish blogs when I stumbled upon lacquerized. Sadly, she is no longer blogging, but that is a whole other story. I fell in love with the yellow that is on her profile picture and this Sinful Colors Unicorn reminded me of that. I just had to try it! It is a light pastel yellow that kind of looks "dirty." It is not as bright and in your face as some yellows can be.

It required three coats to get an even color as application was less than perfect with streaking and dragging. Also, even with a base coat my nails were badly stained yellow after taking this off :(

It looked like sunshine whenever I looked at my hands. Outside, it was overcast and hard to photograph the color accurately. It is not quite this bright in real life...

It did lend itself perfectly to being stamped with a giraffe pattern using Essence Just In Case. My bf kept saying "turtle" and I kept saying "giraffe" back and forth, but in either case, isn't it adorable?

I used Bundle Monster plate BM-215 for the stamping!

Essence Colour & Go Just in Case

I needed something quick and simple today so I grabbed the 1st thing that crossed my path :) It happened to be an Essence Colour & Go polish named Just in Case. It is a coppery, metallic brown. As with most metallics, they can get streaky so it needed careful application, but it was pretty easy with their wider brush (at least for me).

It dried quickly as promised on the bottle. I applied two coats of Just in Case and followed it up with a top coat a few minutes later. I usually like waiting a few minutes between applying my last coat of color and the top coat. When the polish has some time to dry on its own, I find it that I get a lot less shrinking with the topcoat.

You can really see the beautiful metallic shimmer outside. I was so happy that the sun decided to come out even for a few minutes! :D
