Hi Lades and Gentlemen?! At times or fairly often for me all it takes is the polish name to get my imagination going in that direction. I guess one could say I'm rather easily influenced, but I like to think that I'm easily inspired. This manicure is one of those cases and although parts of it didn't turn out exactly as I had hoped, I still love the idea. I will try to give it another shot some day, but for now I'll show you this attempt...

31DC2013 Day 26 - Inspired by a Pattern

Hi All! I'm continuing today with Day 26 of the 31 day challenge. The task for today was to create a manicure inspired by a pattern. I have long been wanting to stamp the houndstooth pattern, but somehow don't seem to get around to actually following through. I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and finally make it happen. Polished by KPT Fall-O-You for me is a perfect shade for the task. It reminds me of a great Fall jacket and I think the houndstooth pattern suits it well. Now if I could actually find a jacket that goes from charcoal gray a the top and gently transitions to and army or olive green at the bottom, I'd be sold...

Mint to Be...

I broke a few nails and decided to trim them all off instead of messing around with fixing corners. Right now my nails are shorter than they've been in a looooooong looooong time. I have no desire to swatch or create nail art so I'm taking a bit of a break from that. In the mean time I will be showing you manicures that have been patiently waiting for their shot in the spotlight.

Starting off today is a stamped manicure that I created after swatching the 365 Days of Color Romantique collection. The delicate mint shade called for an equally delicate floral print pattern in a color to match the beautiful golden flecks it contains..

PolisHaus Spectrum Snowflakes...

Hi! Today I would like to show you some quick nail art that I created while swatching the PolisHaus lacquers last night. I really couldn't resist adding snowflakes over this periwinkle blue beauty. The combination of the two really put me into the winter mood. Might as well get into the mood since it has been really cold lately and the weatherman is threatening snow next week...

Ack! Polish Days caught me completely off guard this month. If it wasn't for the reminder email last night I would have forgotten completely. 2013 Year of the Snake...

Yesterday marked the beginning of the year of the Snake according to the Chinese calendar. This year the snake's element is water and it's color is black. Sunday Stamping: Gold

For Sunday Stamping this week I want to show you a manicure I made a little while ago, but have not had the time to show until now. With this week's theme being to stamp with gold or over gold, I knew it would be a perfect fit. Lately I have not been able to find enough time in the day to swatch, make manicures and blog about it all. Matter of fact my nails have been bare for almost the entire past week as I try (and fail) to catch up on blogging. I have really mixed feeling about this manicure, but decided to show it to you anyway. It is not horrible, but certainly not what I had hoped for. The stamping turned out to be much too subtle and lacks that pop that I wanted. On the other hand sometimes subtle is nice, so maybe you can help me decide... :)

Polish Days: MAN-icure

You may have already heard the term Movember combining the words men and November. It is a wonderful month long event to raise awareness for men's health such as prostate and testicular cancer. According to Wikipedia, Movember started when a group of young men decided to raise awareness by growing moustaches during the month of November. Moustaches have since become the symbol of Movember.

It is only fitting then, that this month's theme for Polish Days is a MAN-icure to honor the event or the special men in our lives. I toyed with the idea of just doing the iconic moustache, but ended up with something a bit different and personal for me...
