Neons by OPI!

Hi Everyone! Sorry for such sporadic posting recently. There is nothing worse than having lots of beautiful polish to show you and very little time to do. I hope to return to my regularly scheduled posting soon. ;)

Today I would like to show you Neons by OPI. I was so excited for these beauties because it is not often that OPI releases such bright shades. Actually, I believe these are their first ever full-sized neons and they are now part of the permanent line which is so awesome. These are just perfect for the sunshine and summertime...

For the best neon pop, these are meant to be worn over a white base and OPI released Put a Coat On! in conjunction with these neons. For all my swatches, I used one coat of Put a Coat On! and topped it off with 2 coats of the neon shade. At just one coat, Put a Coat On! is is somewhat streaky, but this gets easily smoothed over with the neon. On my pinkie nail are two coat of Put a Coat On! for full, even coverage...

The first three neon beauties are Life Gave Me Lemons (index finger), You are So Outta Lime! (middle finger) and Juice Bar Hopping (ring finger). They have a nice crelly (cream + a bit of jelly) formula. They apply easily for good, non-streaky coverage. Layering them over white does brighten the colors compared to how they appear in the bottle. Swatches here are with a top coat...

Of course any good neon must shine in the black light. You are So Outta Lime! had a gorgeous bright white glow and Juice Bar Hopping was glowing bright orange. They were definitely the brightest. I was a bit disappointed in the murky green glow of Life Gave Me Lemons since during daylight it is the most neon of the three...

The next three shades in the OPI Neons are Hotter than You Pink (index finger), Push & Pur-Pull (middle finger) and Down to the Core-al (ring finger). The pink and coral have nice creamy formulas and apply easily. Unlike the crelly shades above, these two have a bit of a shimmer to them. Hotter than You Pink with a gorgeous electric violet shimmer and Down to the Core-al a nice pearly one. Push & Pur-Pull has a jelly formula and the most difficult streaky application. I reapplied it a few times to get coverage I was happy with. I suggest very light brush strokes to avoid pulling the layers underneath. For such a gorgeous squishy purple, I was bummed that it is such a pain to apply. Each of these are with a top coat...

With the black light, Hotter than You Pink and Down to the Core-al really glowed  beautifully. The coral was by far my favorite glow under black light and the pink was my favorite in daylight. Push & Pur-Pull had a hint of purple glow in the black light, not as bright as I had hoped, but definitely pretty.

I couldn't resist a closeup of Hotter than You Pink. I just love the violet shimmer...

What do you think of these Neon shades by OPI? I'm thinking they should release more bright beauties! :)

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)
