I started out with a base of China Glaze Infra Red, which is the darkest of the pink shades in the collection. All of the nails except the ring fingers were stamped with the lighter China Glaze Astro-Hot, using Bundle Monster plate BM-323. I absolutely love this rose pattern and have used it for two other Sunday Stamping challenges in the past, here and here. With Astro-Hot being holo and metallic, I expected it to stamp very well and was rather disappointed in how subtle it turned out...
For the ring finger I sponged a gradient of Infra Red and Astro-Hot. It turned out beautiful, but I was once again kind of a disappointment since I expected the holo effect to still be visible and it seemed to vanish without a trace. At least it is still visible, if ever so slightly, on the stamped nails. I accented the gradient with two pink Swarovski crystals...
A little closeup to see the stamping and gradient...
I often like subtle stamping so I'm not sure why I wasn't pleased with this. Maybe it is because I had such high expectations for stamping with the holos. I will have to try it again with colors that are not so close...
What do you think of subtle stamping?
Thanks for looking!

ReplyDeleteI love subtle stamping. It is like having a secret at your fingertips :-)
ReplyDelete@Tina, I feel the same way about subtle stamping. Love it in real life, but not as much in photos. Hard to show the true beauty of it :)
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job capturing it!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Tina! That means a lot to me :)
