All of these polishes have a nice, easy to apply formula and full coverage in 2-3 coats. Although I really wanted to use a base coat with them, the two just didn't get along. I got bald spots and poor coverage over the base coat, but had no problem applying them to bare nails, which is how I ended up swatching and wearing them. It could be a reaction with my particular brand of base coat, but I didn't try testing different ones.
I would classify these as metallic holos rather than pure holographic shades. The holo shows under direct indoor or outdoor light and without it, they appear metallic. Most likely because of this metallic finish, they show every little ridge, bend and flaw in the nail. The holographic particle size is very fine, much smaller than that of the Color Club Halo Hues. They are very, very quick drying which makes them a great choice when you need something quick...

hm...nothing special :/ I am very disappointed on that collection :(
ReplyDeleteInfra red looks pretty, the rest just looks alright but only that one really stands out for me.
ReplyDeleteI have 'When Stars Collide' and 'Strap On Your Moonboots'. Altough the holo effect is less visible than on other China Glaze polishes I must say that this collection has really pretty and unique colors (WSC and SOYM and OMG A UFO). They are very elegant and when the sun comes out real eyecatchers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the swatches with us :)
@Katiee, I'm sorry to hear that! :(
ReplyDelete@Choi, Infra Red is very pretty! I'm glad you like it!
@Olivia, Thank you! I agree, there are really pretty colors in the collection and while the holo might not be strong, the colors are still beautiful and they do look fantastic in the sun :)
When stars collide is sooooooooooooooooooo pretty!!!!!!!
