Hanukkah Sparkles!

Hi Lovelies! Today I have another Hanukkah manicure to share with you. I don't usually get the chance to create multiple manicures for the occasion, but I got an idea that I just had to try out. Waiting until next year was not an option that I could live with, so time had to be made for the time consuming endeavor. I've been wearing this for the past couple of days and I hope it will last me at least through the weekend because I can't stop staring at them. I'm actually having a difficult time writing this post since I keep getting distracted by the nail...

For the manicure I used a base of Dance Legend Водяной (Vodyanoy) from the Anna Gorelova collection, which I layered over OPI Umpires Come Out at Night. You can see full swatches of this combo further down in the post...

For the accent nail, I created a stamped decal using Pure Ice Silver Mercedes (aka Silver Star) and Bundle Monster plate BM-H02. Huge thanks again to Bundle Monster for being one of the few stamping plate manufacturers to include a couple of Hanukkah friendly designs in their set. A Hanukkah menorah would have been a welcome addition to this plate!

I turned the Star of David into a makeshift menorah and added nine candles which are actually the holographic bar glitter that I picked out of Zoya Electra. I added the flames using KleanColor Metallic Yellow.

Sadly, I trapped some air bubbles under my star decal which are not very noticeable in reality, but really drive me crazy in these photos...

For all but the ring finger, I arranged diamond shaped glitter to represent small Stars of David. They look a bit snowflake-y to me, but still keep me mesmerized so I won't complain too much. I will have to track down some triangular glitter for next year though.

Update: I almost forgot to mention, I got the diamond glitter from the Born Pretty Store. It is a silver holographic glitter that sparkles like crazy. The photos really do it no justice as in reality it catches the light and flashes color at every turn, hence why I'm so mesmerized...

Dance Legend Водяной (Vodyanoy)
A cobalt blue jelly base loaded with blue flakes. It has a great formula which applies easily and the flakes distribute nicely on the nail. It can reach opacity at three coats or be layered over a base polish. I chose to layer it over the navy blue OPI Umpires Come Out at Night. I am head over heels in love with this shade and have worn it a couple of time already so I'm very sad that it has been discontinued! For these swatches, I used 2 coats over my base shade plus a top coat to smooth out the finish.

P.S. A fun little fact for you. The name Vodyanoy in Russian means Merman. In fact all of the shades in the Dance Legend Anna Gorelova collection are named and inspired by fairy tales...
