Smoky Egyptian

Hi everyone! I wanted to show you a manicure that I created while playing around with the Dance Legend Smoky collection shades not too long ago. My first thought was to try and create a turquoise stone manicure using the water spotting technique, but since I still haven't mastered getting polish to behave as I would like, I ended up going in a slightly different direction...

For the manicure I started out with a base of Dance Legend Cetraria, the beautiful turquoise with smoky black specks. For the gold, I used Essence A Piece of Forever. I added a drop of it into a cup with water and spritzed it once with hairspray. After the polish spread, I dipped the tip of my nail into it. If you haven't seen or tried the water spotting technique, it is quite fun and I suggest you look at some tutorials on YouTube. As I mentioned, I haven't been able to master getting the polish to behave as I would like, but I do ogle at those who have perfected it!

I stamped the Egyptian symbols from Messy Mansion plate MM32 using Essence A Piece of Forever. The stamping turned out rather pale and sheer, so I did trace over all of it using the same polish and a tiny detail brush. That was the most time consuming part of the manicure, but really made the symbols stand their ground and appear almost 3D.

For the eye, I added a small gold stud that I got from Cult Nails a while ago...

Until next time!

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)
