Tutorial: Abstract Stained Glass Nail Art

Hi Everyone! I apologize in the delay of putting this tutorial together. I've been in a bit of a funk lately and I'm hoping it will pass soon. A few of you requested that I share a tutorial for this abstract stained glass manicure that I showed you a couple of months ago and I have not forgotten! I had actually created the tutorial at the time of the manicure, but have just now sorted through the photos and can finally share it with you...

piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2014 Featuring Nail Vinyls!

Hi Everyone! I am so excited today because once again I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the annual piCture pOlish Blog Fest. For the first time this year the blog/insta fest features Nail Vinyls. piCture pOlish will be retailing a special exclusive 4 pack 'Nail Vinyls' containing Chevrons, Mini Chevrons, Straight & Right Angles.

My challenge for today was 2-fold, to swatch a gorgeous newly released lacquer named Eyre and to create nail art using Nail Vinyls and the creamy shades Marine and Mad Magenta. I had quite a bit of fun with this challenge so buckle up for a long post!

Jonesy Lou Lacquer Fleur

Hi Everyone! Today I would like to show you another Jonesy Lou Lacquer beauty and some nail art that I had fun creating to go along with it. I'm not quite sure what my inspiration was for this look other than I really wanted to try out New Beat that I showed you yesterday for the leadlight technique and this seemed to be the perfect opportunity...

Jonesy Lou Lacquer New Beat and Spittin Shade

Hi Lovelies! I had hoped to show these beauties to you Monday morning and here we are Friday afternoon by the time I finally got a chance to sort photos and show you two beauties by Jonesy Lou Lacquer. This is a new to me indie brand and I was excited to try a few shades from the lineup. The two lacquers I'm showing today were just released on Monday (hence why I wanted to time my post for that day, but life and work just got in the way). So without further delay, here are New Beat and Spittin Shade...

New Beat
A hot pink jelly with gold and orange microglitter that glows under black light! On it's own, it is rather sheer and for that reason I chose to layer it over a white base. I also figured the white base would make the neon pop. I think it can just as easily be layered over a similar pink cream. The formula was very nice, not too thick. I didn't have any issues with it dragging or balding. Very easy application. This is two coats of New Beat over one coat of white plus a top coat. Hot!...

Smoky Egyptian

Hi everyone! I wanted to show you a manicure that I created while playing around with the Dance Legend Smoky collection shades not too long ago. My first thought was to try and create a turquoise stone manicure using the water spotting technique, but since I still haven't mastered getting polish to behave as I would like, I ended up going in a slightly different direction...

Marbled Galaxy

I don't often get the urge to water marble, mostly because it is a rather frustrating endeavor for me, but the Dance Legend Galaxy multichromes made me think of an oil slick and I decided the marbled effect would play perfectly into that idea. I put my patience cap on, tried to think good thoughts and channel all the water marble gurus until finally ended up with this manicure...

Select Shades of Dance Legend Galaxy Collection...

Hi Lovelies! Today I'm excited to show you three gorgeous shades from the Dance Legend Galaxy collection. The collection consists of holo multichrome lacquers which to me is like saying, magic! How can you go wrong with holo and multichrome in one bottle? Indoors you see a speckled mutichrome and outdoors the holo bling makes it's presence know...

Genie, you're free!

Hi! Along with the rest of the world I'm in shock and saddened by the death of Robin Williams. I thought I would pay my tribute to this brilliant man and actor who was a part of so many of my favorite movies from Mrs. Doubtfire to Good Will Hunting and of course the voice of Genie in Aladdin. It is sad to learn that the man who sprinkled magic into our lives, put a smile on our faces and made us laugh suffered from severe depression that ended so tragically. Depression is often misunderstood by those who haven't experienced it. It can strike anyone regardless of their status in life, whether they have seemingly everything or nothing at all. Hopefully his death will raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention so that others don't have to suffer or feel they have nothing to live for and no one to turn to...

Guest Post on TheNails.net

Hi Everyone!

Today my nails are making a special guest appearance on TheNails.net.

The blog is a new venture by Ivana who you may remember from the blog Ivana Thinks Pink. Ivana's former blog was one of the first that I followed when I started blogging myself. I'm so excited that after a break, she has decided to return to the blogging world and share her designs with us. For me, I will always think pink when I think of Ivana, so the manicure naturally had to be pink...

Foiled Snake!

Last week Nail It! Magazine posted a nail art contest with the challenge to create a manicure inspired by their mood board. I thought I would take a stab at it. It seemed like fun and what have I got to loose, right? For the manicure I was inspired by a metallic snake/lizzard print outfit that is part of that mood bard...

Tempting Half Moons...

I had a really bad dream last night, I dreamt that I was filing my nails and I went too far. I'm talking all the way down to nubs on my index... of my swatching hand. Oh I know, the horror! I don't know how long I spent trying to figure out ways to remedy the situation with all sorts of crazy ways to fix it. I finally woke up and realized it was just bad dream. Now I sit here wondering if my subconscious is trying to tell me something. Have I lost my mind? Inhaled too many polish fumes? Have you had any crazy nail dreams?

Crazy dreams aside, I'd like to show you a manicure that I created with Glam Polish Temptation. I love the purple and gold combo (and not just because those are the colors of my alma mater), so I had to play them up with a little bit of stamping...

Glam Polish Euphoria and Temptation...

Hi Everyone! Thank you for taking the time yesterday to respond to my question! Sounds like we all just sneak away during a free moment or two throughout the day to read blogs. I must say that I do the same thing and don't have a dedicated time to explore. I am thrilled you choose to stop by here when you can and read my ramblings or just look at photos! :)

Today I would like to tempt you with two more Glam Polish shades. These are from the Opulence Series available only from the Glam Polish website and not any of their international stockists. These two beauties contain real gold leaf flakes and plenty of shimmer...

Exotic Illusions Peacock

Good Morning! Afternoon? Evening? When do you all usually take the time to read/look at blogs? Well regardless of what time of day it is, I wanted to take a moment to show you a manicure that I created with the two Glam Polish Exotic Illusions shades that I showed you a couple of days ago. The two of them reminded me of peacock feathers so I really couldn't resist and this happened...

Hi Everyone! Today I would love to share with you my review and swatches of a couple of Glam Polish shades that are part of the Exotic Illusions Series. These two are my first introduction to the Glam Polish indie brand and I'm rather smitten. Does anyone still say smitten these days? It is the perfect word to describe how I feel about these beauties...
