Diana is a master at stamping, incredibly talented and as I already mentioned she is super sweet on top of that. If you have not seen her blog yet, make sure to check it out! What I learned from Diana is a mirror image stamping trick. If you have been following me for a bit, you might remember that I posted my own mirror image stamping trick tutorial about a month ago. It involves a plastic bag trick to flip the image over. I posted the tutorial to the group and Diana commented saying that she flips images over stamper to stamper. Come again? Yeah, pick it up with one stamper then transfer to another and then to the nail. You need an XL stamper and a Konad type stamper plus be pretty quick with transferring/stamping, but it works...
For the manicure I started out with Barielle Myrza's Meadow* and sponged the tips with Color Club Fly With Me. I then stamped using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Jumpin' Jade and Bundle Monster plate BM03. The same Bundle Monster pattern was then mirrored and stamped again followed by a bit more Fly With Me shimmer at the tips. Simply brilliant is all I can say of this trick...
If the mirror image is difficult to see in the manicure, here is what I'm talking about. The same leaf pattern stamped using the mirror technique on the left and stamped the regular way on the right...
This trick is really great for flipping small images especially when you want to do it quickly and not something you've been planning. For full mirror image manicures I would probably still stick with the plastic bag method that I showed here to ensure I get a full clean image.
I will post a tutorial on this technique tomorrow. I figured it would be nice just in case I lost some of you with my babble, so stay tuned...
UPDATE: Take a look at the tutorial for technique this here!
Have you tried this technique before? What have you recently learned that really inspired you?
Thanks for looking!
