Nail-aween Challenge Day 3: Bloody Nails Attempt #2

I really couldn't resist doing another bloody manicure for Day 3 of the Nail-aween challenge. I have been wanting to try a splatter manicure for a while and this was the perfect opportunity to do it. I was about the clean up the mess, but what is the likelihood of true blood splatter just falling neatly on the finger nails? Therefore, you get to see all the whole bloody mess...

I used the same polishes this time around as for my first bloody manicure attempt. The base of the manicure is OPI My Very Fist Knockwurst. The "blood" is Zoya Sam, thinned out with some polish thinner for easier splattering. Thinning it out, however, made is lighter than I would have liked. Maybe next time I will try for a deeper red to splatter with so when it is thinned out the color will hopefully be just right. For splattering I used a disposable plastic pipette...

Even thought I was reluctant to clean up, there is no way I'd be able to pull that look off at work (unless maybe on the 31st itself), so I had to clean up. Here is what it looks like...

I'd love to know what you think of this! Let me know in the comments below :)

P.S. Don't forget to take a look at all the other lovelies participating in the challenge...

  14. Thank you! Thrilled that the bloody effect came across well. I used a cheap plastic pipette for the splatter, straws seem so messy! :)
