Lion's Den
A sheer base packed with gold and copper glass flecks. It applies easily and provides full coverage at two coats. Since it is in a sheer base, I needed to wrap the tips on all three coats to give them proper coverage. Dry time is longer than anticipated. Swatches are with no top coat...

A deep purple cream. This is practically a one-coater. Great, smooth formula which is easy to work with. Swatches are two coats without a top coat...

Tribe and True
An army green jelly with a yellow undertone. It has a good formula which was easy to apply. Two coats for full coverage as shown here. I can't say that I'm a fan of this color, but it would be perfect for a camo mani. Swatches with no top coat...

Look, Don't Tusk
A soft ivory cream. It can provide full coverage at two coats, however, thicker coats get a bit goopy so I used three thin coats for full, even coverage. I love this one! Swatches with no top coat...

In De-Nile
A baby blue cream. This one has a perfect two coat formula which applies smoothly. It dries a bit more vibrant than bottle color. Makes me think of a summer sky. Swatches with no top coat...

Safari Sunset
A peachy cream with a strong gold shimmer. It applies easily and provides great coverage at just two coats. Because of the shimmer, brush strokes are visible if they are not perfectly straight. You can see this on my middle finger where my lines aren't straight. No top coat in these swatches...

I love the ivory and baby blue shades, especially since you say the formula is good for both. You don't get that with pastels all the time, to the dismay of my polish horde.
ReplyDeleteWow, a baby blue with a good formula? Very interesting! I wonder how different this one is from Zoya Blu and Essie Find Me An Oasis. Maybe you have some of these and could tell the difference?
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Borrowed & Blue? Never had a problem with it.
DeleteI have not tried Find Me an Oasis, but it is very close to Zoya Blu.
DeleteHere is my comparison of the two: http://instagram.com/p/lY0HyMF9r9/
In De-Nile has a slightly thicker formula than the Zoya and the shade is also a bit different
I also have not tried the Borrowed & Blue. I don't have too many Essie polishes in my collection :(
Delete@Anutka Thank you! I have Zoya Blu.
Delete@Magda I didn't try Borrowed&Blue, thank you for the tip, I'll look for it.
I like Safari Sunset. It looks a lot like a color from the march square hue collection, but with more shimmer!
ReplyDeleteI know you aren't a fan...but that uglypretty green polish is right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteOooh new bottles! That green looks very similar to China Glaze's Budding Romance, but maybe Tribe & True is a bit darker? I like the dark blue one the best!
ReplyDeleteOh, it does look very similar. I don't own Budding Romance to really compare the two. Tribe & True is the first such green in my collection :)
DeleteThey are all so pretty - thought I liked the deep blue best, but then I saw the baby blue, and then I saw the ivory... oh, my!
