To create this manicure, I started out with a base of three coats of Pipe Dream Polish Time in a Tapestry. You can see full swatches of it further down in the post...
I stamped the paisley print using Maybeline Bold Gold (70) and Cheeky XL plate "I"...
I love how the paisley print plays into the 'tapestry' part of the name. Using individual paisley images allowed me to create a different look on each nail and space the pattern out so that the polish still shows through...
I love the paisley P in the logo and how fun is it to have a matching pattern to stamp?...
They are like two P's in a pod... (so sorry for the pun, it is really late...)
Pipe Dream Polish Time in a Tapestry is a green jelly with a gold shimmer and loaded with gold, cooper and brown glitter. I needed three coats for full coverage. I suggest thin coats for easy application since thick coats can get goopy (yup, that's a very technical term here). There is lots of glitter in each brush stroke. It is so gorgeous and perfectly fitting to the name. Swatches are with a top coat...

I love that mani. Both the stamping and the base polish. I could see this on my nails.
ReplyDeleteThis is such an amazing manicure!!!
ReplyDeleteY know, from the pictures Time in a tapestry is rich on its own and it's perfect alone too but the paisly design looks great and doens't seem too much over the glitters... I think because green and gold are great together!
I'm loveing it ;-)

ReplyDeleteHi Anutka!
ReplyDeleteYou do such beautiful nails!!! The colors are so gorgeous.
Have you got good stamps with xl plate I?
I have just got xl plate I too. The details really don't come out especially for the paisleys and the the first row of small images. The details just smudge. The one you used is the least bad, but with compared too the image in the plate, there are still many missing details. I tried many times with different tools and polishes, even with special polishes for stamping and it's always too terrible. I have Konad and Moyou and with these ones I can get every single fine detail, even the thinnest line.
I'm so sad and disappointed. I would like too know how was your experience with the others images in plate I?
Erika
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoy my nail art.
I purchased the 'XL plate I' (and other XL plates that I own) from Cheeky Beauty via Amazon. I have only tried the paisley patterns from this plate and as you can see they do smudge a little. I just tried the first row of small images and while I do pick up the whole image on my stamper, it does lack detail. I think they are quite deeply etched so there is a lot of polish left in them.
After I purchased these plates, I realized they all lack A LOT of detail. I later found out that unfortunately the ones sold by Cheeky Beauty, Ebay, and a lot of other places online are just copies of the original, much more detailed plates by Magno Nails (http://www.magnonails.de/shop/Nail-Stamping/Stamping-Schablonen/XL-Schablone/). Unfortunately the dupes are not very good, on some plates you can see how they altered the image (for the worse) and a lot of the detail was lost as well. I was really disappointed to find that out and I hardly use my XL plates now.
Although I have not invested in the ones from Magno Nails since they are a bit more expensive. Someday I might get a few of the ones I really want.
Really thanks!!
ReplyDeleteThat helped much! I´m so desapointed with Cheeky xl plates. Such a terrible quality. I tried some tips for deep etched plates here, but failed.

I actually live in Germany and I know Magno Nails. I just think it's a little bit expensive because it´s 15,99 plus 4,90 (shipping costs) for a plate.
I got Moyou London instead and they are the best plates I ever used. Stamping becomes so easy with it. Better than Konad! I really recommend despise the price.
@Erika, Another tip that I usually try is to go through the motions of stamping and pick it up on the stamper, but not stamp on the nail. Repeat that a few times until the etching fills up with a bit of leftover polish. Sometimes this works, but not for very intricate designs. And sometimes no tips/tricks really work. :(
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the Magno nail plates, just a bit too pricey, but for the best images that's the way to go... I definitely love my MoYou plates. They are perfect!
