On the nail, it is easy to tell that they are not dupes. Mer-Maid is a green to blue duochrome shift while The Lizard is a gold to green duochrome. I only needed two coats for full coverage with Mer-Maid, but The Lizard required three to fully cover the nail line. At some point it almost seems as though one picks up where the other ends. The Lizard goes from gold to green... then Mer-Maid starts up with the green and goes to blue...
I hope this little comparison was helpful! Let me know what you think in the comments below :)
Thanks for looking!

Nice comparison! Do you think that Mer-Maid For Each Other might be pretty close to China Glaze Unpredictable?
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe they are dupes from what I have seen, although I do not own Unpredictable to make my own comparison :)
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison post, thank you very much ^_^ Both colours are very interesting. I think I have seen dupes of both of these by Art Deco.
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison post! Do you think Mer-Maid For Each Other and Missha HGR01 are similar? It's hard to tell from online swatches :).
ReplyDeleteI got Unpredictable and it looks more like Just Spotted to me.
ReplyDelete@Cel, I think both have lots of dupes out there. I might be the only one that doesn't have all the dupes so I'm excited to have both :)
ReplyDelete@polish cart. I don't have the Missha polish either, but online it does look very similar. Here is a comparison post by someone else: http://berrymilktea.wordpress.com/2012/07/26/multichrome-comparison-library-volume-four-missha-hgr01-co/
@Alicia, That is interesting, from all the dupe posts I've seen it looks like NOPI is the dupe for Unpredictable. Here is what I'm talking about: http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2012/08/OPI-Fall-2012-Germany-Comparisons-Dupes.html
Great comparisons, both two lovely colours.
