Subtle Stamping

Hi Everyone!

It has been a crazy week for me and although it is the weekend and time to relax for a lot of people, it is my weekend to work because I guess 'there ain't no rest for the wicked'. Ha! To make up for lack of time to paint my nails, I thought I'd show you another mani out of the archive. I've only got a few more to show you and then I will be all caught up. Gasp!

This mani is one that I wore last year for Hanukkah. The stamping turned out more subtle than I had anticipated and I remember being indecisive about whether I liked it or not. I'm still a bit torn, but definitely leaning toward liking it. Is there such a thing as too subtle?

For the manicure I used two lacquers that I polishnapped borrowed from my cousin. The base is Golden Rose Matte Velvet 103 stamped with Sally Hansen Crystal Ball using Born Pretty Store plate BP-13.

I expected Crystal Ball to be all sorts of blinding holo upon stamping. I'm talking along the lines of Color Club Halo Hues magic, but alas it wasn't nearly the same. I may or may not, however, still be holding this 'magical' polish hostage... ah, who am I kidding, I'm still holding it hostage because I have yet to try it solo on the nail and I hope it doesn't disappoint...

Not so bad, up close and personal...

Golden Rose Matte Velvet 103 is a medium blue shade packed with blue shimmer that dries to a satiny finish. I hesitate to call it a full out matte though. It has a nice formula which is easy to apply and provides full coverage at 2-3 coats. The only downside to this beauty is a longer than expected dry time for a matte. Swatches are with no topcoat to show the full effect...

Long dry time or not, I'm in love with this gorgeous shade. I think it might be time to wear it again!

I also borrowed two other Golden Rose Matte Velvet shades from my cousin (and she's holding a few of my polishes hostage in exchange!) that are just as gorgeous as this one and I can't wait to show them to you. One of them I have already tried out and will show you soon. The other I have yet to play with, but I've got an idea that I'm itching to try.

Let me know what you think of this! I love to hear from you!

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

  1. Oh how fun to have someone to exchange polishes with!! And I think these are just the right amount of subtle. They don't compete, but you also can still clearly see the pattern. Sorry you've had to work so much lately, hopefully you get a break for more nail art soon! ;)

    1. Thank you so so much! I'm glad you like them. I work nights, so it's not even that I work so much, it's just that it wipes me out and I sleep the whole day after. I should have some time to play on my days off coming up :D

    1. Thank you so much Stacy! You've probably never heard of these holo because they are OLD or should I say vintage?! That's why I had to kidnap it from my cousin. Sadly, they were out long before my polish obsession started...
