For the manicure I used Glam Polish Frankenslime 2014 and OPI A Grape Affair. I thought that the dark purple would compliment the similar shade purple glitter in this polish very nicely.
To create the look, I started out with a full base of Frankenslime 2014 and then using a nail art brush and A Grape Affair, I painted the reverse drips on the tips. I just love the way this turned out. I can almost feel the gooey (as I imagine it to be) Frankenslime sliding down my nails.
In hindsight, it may have been easier to make this manicure in reverse, by starting out with A Grape Affair and then adding Frankenslime 2014 on top. With the way I did it, I had to imagine/paint the negative space since the green drips was what I wanted to highlight. I'll have to keep that in mind for next time I guess...
Frankenslime 2014
A green jelly filled with neon green and purple glitter plus holo glitter. It has a great formula which is easy to apply. I used 3 thin coats for my swatches because that is what I prefer, but you could get away with 2 thicker coats of this lacquer as well. My swatches don't do justice to the beautiful holo sparkle in these. I just adore this shade and plan on wearing it again, regardless if it is Halloween time or not! The tiny neon green and purple glitter are just perfect here. Swatches are with a top coat...

That is a great manicure! At first it looked like the purple polish has dripped and ran over the green one, but then when I looked again, no... the green was running down over the purple one. What a great effect. I can see it both ways now. Over the green Frankenslime the Grape Affair polish looks navy blue rather than purple. This is fun to look at and I love that base polish with the multicolored bits.
ReplyDeletefirst of all I think the polish is gorgeous!! Absolutely love it! and second of all to me the manicure looks as if the purple is dripping down not the other way, but honestly I don't think it matters at all! Its really cool.
ReplyDeleteThis looks really cool! Your drips really look like slime :)
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, this mani makes me incredibly happy
