Zoya Magical Pixie Swatches and Review...

For this Summer, Zoya released three Magical PixieDust shades with the same type of textured finish as the Spring shades earlier this year. Magical PixieDust shades are highly textured and extremely sparkly containing loads of holographic glitter (which my camera insisted on suppressing).

As usual when I review textured polish, I gave each of these shades a minimum of one hour to fully dry before photographing. I find that although these shades are wearable and 'dry' in less time than that, they do continue to harden to their final state for quite a while.

For each of these beauties I used three coats for the coverage you see below. The formula is not the easiest to work with. The main thing for me is to let each coat dry before applying the next. This helps speed up the drying process and ensures they dry all they way through and become completely matte. The first coat applies perfectly, but as expected is very sheer. The second and third coats apply in progressively thicker layers because it becomes difficult to smoothly glide the brush over the textured finish. With the third coat, I found myself dabbing more than brushing as I often do with glitter bombs.

If you are into the textured polish look and feel than any formula difficulties are completely worth it because these are super blingy and sparkly. I wish I was able to catch a few photos in the sunshine, but it was overcast and/or middle of the night when I did my swatching so I'm just going to say what I hate to say and that is... trust me, the sparkle on these is amazing!
