For this manicure I started out with a base of OPI Sleigh Ride for Two and topped it off with one generous coat of Shimmer Airriann. Full swatches of Airriann are further down in this post...
I stamped the chevron pattern from Fab UR Nails plate FUN 5 using KleanColor Black. I just recently picked up this black because I had heard it was great for stamping and it did indeed stamp very well. My only complaint is the smell of it! I had to hold my breath while stamping because I was pretty sure I would either get a migraine or pass out from the strong chemical smell. This truly might be the worst smelling polish I've ever tried... but it stamps well...
I love how dark and moody these chevrons turned out. The sparkle through the openings was a lot of fun!
Shimmer Airriann
A clear base filled with various shapes and sizes of glitter. To try and list them all would be silly because I'm pretty sure there is a bit of every color in here. I love the iridescent and black glitter in this polish! It would be a great topper over just about any base color. I applied one generous coat over OPI Sleigh Ride for Two. Swatches are with a top coat...
A closeup of all the beautiful glitter... I see peach and gold and red and green and black and purple and... and... and...
A peek inside the bottle. Some of the lavender/blue glitter are actually iridescent and go from sheer green/gold to purple. Really beautiful..

I also wanted to show you the Fab UR Nails FUN 5 stamping plate that I used for this manicure. I actually won this plate in a giveaway in one of my stamping groups. This is my first FUN plate and I am really excited about it.
The plate itself is quite large and measures 9.5 x 14.5 cm (3 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches). The front of the plate comes with the standard blue protective cover which needs to be removed before using. The back of the plate is covered in a plastic backing featuring the Fab UR Nails logo and website (thriszha.blogspot.com). It seems that the black plastic doesn't always reach the edge so some of the edges (where you can see the silver in this photo) are still sharp...
The plate has a lot of beautiful full nail images as well as some adorable smaller ones. Is very well etched and the images are easy to pick up and come out crisp. I am definitely looking forward to more manis with it...
The full nail images are XL and measure 16 x 21 mm which is significantly larger than the 'standard' large size you find on plates such as Bundle Monster's latest series (14 x 17 mm). This is great for those with longer nails, however, it would still work for people with smaller nails because there is so much detail in each image. A smaller portion can easily be used...

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Cindy! I'm glad you like it! I love it over the dark base although I think it would also look fantastic over a lighter base to really show off the black hex!

DeleteOh no! Another plate I need to get! It has the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows symbol in the bottom middle. I can just see it stamped over Dark and Difficult Times from Polish TBH.
ReplyDeleteLOL! See, symbols like that are just lost on me! I didn't even know what it was :)
