Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there!!!

I would love to say that I have prepared a special manicure for the occasion, but I simply ran out of time. Rather than spend this morning trying to create a manicure for myself, I am heading over to visit my wonderful mom and give her a much deserved manicure! To compensate for my lack preparedness, I would like to show you a manicure I wore a little bit ago....

The base of this manicure is China Glaze Strap on Your Moonboots which is a beautiful denim blue holo. I stamped the scroll butterfly pattern from Dashica plate SdP-O using Wet 'n Wild White Creme. This pattern reminds me of piping on a cake that is done in one continuous string of icing. The name of the technique escapes me at the moment. This is such a beautiful pattern...

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

  1. Hi! As always, love your posts. When I took some cake deco classes (awhile ago, before the popularity of the smooth cakes), I learned a technique that was called cornelli lace (sp?). Remembering that one is easy for me as I used the technique on my Mom's wedding cake. I think it is what you are referring to - and how nice of you to bring it to mind TODAY. :-)
    Love your blog!

  2. @Kimett Kolors, That is exactly the technique I was referring to! I'm so glad I was able to remind you of your mom today! Great day to do it for sure :)

  3. I like the base colour and also the beautiful pattern! :-)
My first problem is that my mother is far away from me; my second problem is that two times a year when I go home and stay with her few days, she doesn't give me the joy to give her some nice manicure, she thinks she is "too old"... :-/ But, every time I'm trying to convince her and I'm sure that one day she'll have to accept it! :-)

  4. It is silly when people get the idea they are "too old" for something. There are plenty of age appropriate nail polish colors. I hope your mom will one day give you the opportunity to do her manicure! It is a wonderful way to spend time together. Don't give up :D
