Zoya Awaken and Monet Swatches and Review!

I'm finally back to swatching post my nail break and I would like to start out by showing you the Zoya Awaken Spring collection and a special topper named Monet. The Awaken collection includes six shades which are perfect for the season and remind me of Easter candy shades that invade the stores this time of year...

Zoya Dot
A baby pink cream. The shade is really lovely and delicate. It needed three coats to reach full opacity as it has some crelly/jelly aspect to it. Applying coats too quickly one after the other tended to get goopy so I waited more time than usual in between layers. I guess Zoya spoiled me with all the perfect 2-coat creams in their previous collections so I was hoping for the same with this beauty, but I was slightly disappointed. Swatches here are three coats with no top coat...

Zoya Cole
A creamsicle orange cream. This has a similar formula as Dot. It also took three coats to reach full and even coverage. Again, I suggest giving it a bit longer in between coats. Swatches are with no top coat...

Zoya Hudson
A lavender with a scattered pearly golden shimmer. Overall it has a metallic look to it. It has a great two coat formula, very easy to apply. I'm really loving everything about this lacquer. It is one of my favorites from the collection. Swatches are with no top coat...

An icy blue with a scattered pearly golden shimmer. This also has a wonderful formula, two coats for full opacity and very easy to use. Same family as the two shades above, just a different color. I really love this one as well. No top coat in these swatches...

Zoya Brooklyn
A frosty metallic champagne gold. As far as frost shades go, this has a very nice formula. It does leave behind visible brush strokes, but with careful application they are barely noticeable. It provides full coverage at two coats. Swatches are with no top coat...

Zoya Monet (layered over Cole)
A transparent jelly base filled with iridescent hex glitter. The jelly base is rather thick and goopy. I found it easiest to dab the glitter on rather than brush it on to avoid applying thick layers or having it follow the brush off the nail. If the base is applied too thick, it does bubble. The glitter itself is really pretty and so delicate due to it's transparency. I like the look of it over the cream shades, but not so much over the shimmery ones. I think it also looks amazing over black from other swatches that I have seen, however, I have not tried this myself yet. This is one coat dabbed over Cole plus a top coat...

  1. Cole is the only I own so far, but I have my eye on several others. They aren't in the stores here yet. I happened to get Cole with the Peter Som trio collection. I love it and have had several compliments on it and some wanted to know what I was wearing so they could buy a bottle too! This is such a beautiful spring/summer color that it may very well be my go to shade for the season. I can't wait to get the topper Monet. It is going to look great over Cole on my nails.

  5. I was able to get Dot, Cole and Monet two days ago. I heard from reading the blog reviews that those two cremes have the toughest formula to deal with from the collection, but those are the ones that have called to me since I first saw this particular collection. For Monet, I was thinking of applying it with a sponge to keep so much of the base off my nail. Now I just need to make myself take off my current mani (from the OPI Muppets Most Wanted collection, Intl Crime Caper and Muppets World Tour) which I am loving so that I can try these new polishes!
