My 4th of July Mani!

Hi Everyone!

I hope all of you who celebrate the holiday had a Happy 4th of July yesterday!

I spent my 4th at work as usual, but I was able to sneak out for a break just in time to catch a bit of the gorgeous fireworks display over Puget Sound. I hadn't intended to do a manicure for the occasion because I really had nothing special planned for the day, but a co-worker shamed me for not rocking some red, white and blue on my nails as I used to. I promised her I'd get my act together at least for 4th! So that's how I ended up with some nail art for the first time in months! Just slightly ironic that on independence day, I gave up my freedom of sleeping in late to get up and do some nail art ;)

I really can't believe it has been so long since the last time I posted! Time just seems to fly these days. I never intended to disappear or stop blogging completely, but I must confess that the freedom I found by no longer pushing myself to keep up with the blog is quite liberating. I've mentioned my reasons for initially putting the breaks on blogging before, but shortly after that I switched from working evenings to working night shift. I now have a rotation of working 7 nights in a row and then having 7 days off in a row. The week that I work, I have no time for nails at all (except of course when I sacrifice sleep to keep a promise to a co-worker). The days that I'm off, I fill up with family and friends, with spending time outdoors, curling up with a good book, decorating my house, and about a million other things. I can probably find time during that week for a mani or two, but strangely I haven't had the urge. Most days my nails are nakie (eek!) and occasionally sporting a color which I tend to wear until it grows out or starts to chip, whichever comes first. I'm still waiting for something to spark my interested to get back to nail art, but for now let me show you this 4th of July mani I'm currently wearing...

If you are familiar with stamping then this manicure is rather simple. As I mentioned, I didn't have much time for anything fancy. The toughest part here was picking out the colors. I started out with a base of OPI Angel With a Leadfoot. I then stamped the flag and accent nail designs from Bundle Monster plate BM-H25, using OPI Lost on Lombard (red) and Umpires Come Out at Night (blue). The colors are a bit brighter in reality than how they turned out in the photos and I am really loving it...

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Until next time...

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

  4. I know you might be busy and might not respond but, have you ever showed a turquoise color polish? I've been looking for a good turquoise polish and can't really find one!

  5. I love the light colors beautiful and impressive. But I want the darker blue and red for the Christmas patterns.
