Wish Upon a Star

Hi Everyone! Today I would like to show you a manicure that I created shortly before my blogging break. I had been playing around with UberChic plates and preparing my review of them (which is still in the works) when I came up with this. One of the images that I really loved is this skyline with stars. I can see it used in may different ways and right now I imagine it over a sunset gradient with black stamping. At the time that I wore this, it was still winter and somehow the black night sky was more my mood than a warm spring/summer sunset...

For the manicure, I used a base of Dance Legend Zmei Gorinich layered over black. You can see swatches of this flakie filled shade further down in the post. For the stamping, I reached for my two favorite metallic polishes Maybelline Bold Gold for the stars and Pure Ice Silver Mercedes for the skyline. The image comes from UberChic plate UC 2-02. The images on the UC plates are large (which is awesome!), but in this case it meant that I couldn't fit both the skyline and the stars on my short nails in one stamping move. I stamped them separately which actually gave me a bit more variability in ensuring that each nail looked ever so slightly different...

I just love the flakies underneath this design, a bit of fireworks in the sky?

Zmei Gorinich
A black jelly base loaded with green, red/orange and blue color shifting flakies. With the jelly base, this polish can build up to full coverage on it's own at 3+ coats, depending on the thickness. I chose to layer two coats of this flakie beauty over a black base to ensure even coverage. The formula is very nice and the flakies easily spread out and lay flat against the nail. Swatches are with a top coat.

Unfortunately as of right now, this beauty has been discontinued and I no longer see it available on the Dance Legend website so I do apologize for teasing...

    1. Are you referring to this manicure http://wackylaki.blogspot.com/2015/02/diamond-rows.html ?

The pattern is achieved using the stamping technique and UberChic plate 2-01 (http://uberchicbeauty.com/).
If you are not familiar with this technique, you can search "nail stamping" on YouTube for some demos.

      I hope this helps! :)
