Go Hawks!

Hi Everyone!

Although I must confess that I'm not a football fan by any means, living in Seattle it is difficult not to catch a bit of Superbowl fever. Everywhere I turn, I see blue and neon green and it appears that I've grown quite fond of the color combination. That is precisely why when I sat down to swatch the upcoming Glam Polish Knockout collection, I couldn't help but gravitate toward the lime green and sparkly blue. They are not a exact match for the team color (nor were they intended to be), but never the less, it seemed fitting to create a manicure with the two of them on Superbowl Sunday. Maybe I can fit in around here after all? Go Hawks!

(Side note, I got a new macro lens to play with so please let me know what you think of these photos!!)

For the manicure I used two glam polish lacquers ZAP! (lime green) and CRASH! (denim blue). I will show you full swatches of these beauties in a couple of days. For now, let's consider this a sneak peak. To create the look, I started out with ZAP!. Then using the polish brush with most of the polish wiped off, I added OPI Angel With a Leadfoot by swiping the brush from tips to the middle of the nail. I then repeated this process using CRASH!

How is that for a macro? I got myself a new macro lens for the holidays and am finally getting around to playing with it. I love it!

P.S. What do you think of these photos? All were shot with my new macro lens. It makes focusing on manicures so much easier, but does cause some distortion around the edges. I would really love to know your opinion on these photos!!

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

  2. The details are awesome! I actually don't mind a little distortion around the edges; it gives the pictures an added depth.

  4. I would like a smaller aperture - say, at least 11. I don't mind the fingers being out of focus, but I prefer to see the whole nail in detail.
