Reindeer Sweater

Hi! Today is a manicure that I should have shown you a long, long time ago. Well most certainly last year! I have been pre-occupied with personal and family issues very recently and while I will try to keep up with the blog, it is going to take a backseat for a bit. Now on that 'happy' note, I'd like to show you a manicure that I created when I was in a festive mood, inspired by everyone's holiday sweater creations...

By now you might know that I love thermal polishes and Katherine of Polished by KPT sure knows how to make them! Her creations always get my mind spinning and dreaming up nail art ideas.

For this manicure I used Polished by KPT Meggie which is a custom thermal created for Femme Fatale Cosmetics. I've got swatches of it further down in this post, but at first the nail art, my favorite part...

I stamped the sweater pattern from MoYou London Festive 06 plate using Essence Stamp Me! Black. I then had fun accenting parts of the design using some loose glitter, gold and teal polishes plus a single red bullion bead for Rudolph's nose who is leading the pack on my index finger.

This is what the manicure looked like in the cold state...

In transition...

And all warmed up...

As I mentioned, I used the MoYou London Festive 06 plate for this manicure. I love the quality of MoYou London stamping plates, but as before, I do have sizing issues with them. I won't get on that soapbox again (you can read about it here if you wish), but for this plate, I once again decided to go with the smaller sized images which are just a few millimeters short for my nails. A friend of mine got the XL version of the plate and the patterns were too large to really fit well on the nails, so I figured it would be easier for me to work with the small ones in this case...

A few more peeks at the manicure in transition state...

Polished by KPT Meggie
A thermal lacquer that transitions from a pale milky gray with a strong violet shimmer to a dark violet gray. It contains a scattered micro holographic shimmer. It is a gorgeous shade which transitions easily between the two states. I tend to be freezing these days, so I got to see a lot of the darker side of it which I love. It has a very nice formula which applies easily. Two coats would be sufficient to reach opacity for the cold state, but I added a third coat to ensure the warm state was also opaque. Swatches are with a top coat...
