In a Snow Flurry

Hi Lovelies! The Glam Polish Mid-Winter's Dream collection is launching today and I wanted to show you some nail art that I created with one of the shades from the collection. Inspired by the icy blue beauty itself and fighting the strong urge to stamp snowflakes, I decided to attempt a snowy tree scene instead...

For the manicure I started out with a base of Glam Polish Below Zero. I stamped the trees from Born Pretty Store plate BP-01 using Essence Stamp Me! White. I wanted to 'decorate' the trees so they didn't seem so bare and in the final manicure ended up with very little of the original stamping visible. It served as more of a template or guide for me...

Using green acrylic paint, I covered up parts of the stamping to give the trees just a snowy tips effect. I used a little bit of acrylic paint to go over the stamping on the tips and cover up parts that didn't transfer well. I chose to only cover up portions of the stamping to give it a bit more dimension. In reality the color difference between the stamping and the paint was visible. Interestingly, with the addition of a top coat, it formed cracks similar to a crackle polish. Rather than try to fix the cracks, I decided to leave them in the final manicure as I thought it looked more 'realistic' that way...

For the gold accents, I used Glam Polish You and Me (But Mostly Me) from the Broadway collection. It made the perfect, super sparkly (as if the base wasn't sparkly enough) tinsel on my trees...

I would love to know what you think of this manicure!

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

  2. Hi Anutka, these nails are very cheerful and bright. I enjoy seeing colors other than the traditional red and green at the holidays -- like sparkly blue! Just lovely.

  5. That Glam polish is SO stunning! I love the art you've done on it too. The cracks work as it just looks like a snowdrift but I've had that before too when the acrylic paint wasn't properly dry before topcoat.
