Basket Weave

Hi Lovelies! Today I'm going to show you my feeble attempt at a free hand basket weave pattern. I was inspired by a seemingly simple tutorial by @yagala on Instagram. She made it look so easy that I thew my inhibitions to the wind and decided to try it out. Now although her manicure is gorgeous from any distance, mine is best viewed from far, far away. In other words, back away from your computer now or you might get scared. Yes, that means you too! Take your coffee cup and back away, then come back and tell me what you think of this...

For this manicure, I used two shades from the Zoya Naturel Deux collection, Emilia (dark chocolate brown) and Spencer (creamy taupe/beige). For a step by step how to create this, I will refer you back to the @yagala's tutorial that I followed....

Looks halfway decent from a distance I think. I'm sure with practice I could fine tune the lines and stop the shaky hands, but once everything was said and done, the only thing going through my mind was... "why didn't I just stamp a basket weave pattern?"...

First part of creating the basket pattern are stripes. I decided to stop here and take photos since I had a feeling I would muck the rest up. I'm really glad I did because I love these stripes. The colors look so perfect together. Next time it will be just stripes for me! Once again the colors here are Spencer (light) and Emilia (dark).

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)
