Black Raffian Inspired...

Way back when my blog was just a baby and I was getting my feet wet in the world of nail art, I came across this manicure by Lacquerized and instantly fell in love. It has been on my must try list ever since. When I sat down to play around with the OPI Gwen Stefani collection, one look at the chrome silver and matte black and I knew exactly what I had to do!...

For the manicure, I used OPI Push and Shove and 4 in the Morning. It is such a simple, clean, classy look that I just can't get enough of it! I'm not sure what took me so long to try it out, but I'm so glad I finally did.

Although I think my version pales in comparison to the original created by Lacquerized, I'm so happy with how it looks...

And just because I'm a crazy stamping nut, when I had worn the above mani for a day, I decided to stamp over it...

I wanted to try Push and Shove out as a stamping polish because I was sure it would work perfectly, but I was wrong. I wasn't able to pick up images onto my stamper when using Push and Shove. Instead I went back to my tried and true favorite silver for stamping, Pure Ice Silver Mercedes. I used Lily Anna plate 04 for the scales image...

I guess I must really like this particular scales image on the Lily Anna 04 plate because I just realized that it is my second time using it in a short period of time. That is quite rare for me and must mean something, right? :)

Is there a manicure you have been wanting to try for a long time, but never seem to get around to it?

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

    1. Thank you dear! I love it before the stamping too. That's the way I fell in love with it a long time ago. I didn't think I'd post the stamping, but was just trying it out for fun before removing them mani and ended up liking it too :)

  2. Both are very elegant! Being a stamp lover - I think I am more intrigued by that one though. :)

  4. Really nice work! Love both versions but the stamped one is just amazing. Did you free hand the ruffian?

  6. I really like the stamped version! How did you keep the Push and Shove border clean when stamping over the Black Ruffian? It looks so perfect.

  7. Wow! How on earth did you get such a clean edge on the black on the Ruffian?! If I would have done this and even used a helping sticker decal, the black would have smeared some onto the silver when I removed the decal! Or do you put the black down first? Either way - Wonderful job. And kudos on the stamped version - love it!

I did a similar raffian nail art with OPI's colors from Gwen's collection a while back but never got to post it... Love it!
