Color Club Flamingo...

When I was first getting into nail art, I got somewhat hooked on nail stickers. My attention quickly switched to stamping and freehand, but in a short amount of time I managed to acquire more stickers than I know what to do with. It is kind of a shame to see them just sitting there deprived of their moment in the spotlight. I  decided that it would be fun to experiment with some of them again....

For this manicure I started out with Color Club Flamingo and added some 3D puffy nail stickers that I purchased on Ebay. The white provided a nice contrast against the pink and the pink rhinestones complemented the base color nicely. Even though I think the look of these can be replicated with freehand or even stamping, the stickers are great if you don't feel artistically inclined or need something quick....

I did add a top coat over these, but because they are puffy and rubbery feeling, I probably shouldn't have...

Color Club Flamingo is a bright, bordering on neon, bubble gum pink cream. It is part of the Fiesta collection  released this Spring. It has a nice smooth formula and full coverage in just two coats. Both of my cameras refuse to properly photograph pink shades such as this. The polish is slightly deeper and brighter in real life. My skin color is not actually this dark, although as my boyfriend commented, it does make my hands look tan. Swatches are two coats without a top coat...

I tried a photographing under direct sunlight and this is the most color accurate shot that I got...

My friend really fell for this polish upon seeing my manicure and instructed me to give it my highest review :)

What do you think of nail stickers? Does it seem like cheating to have such quick nail art?...

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

  3. Hey, it's not cheating. Sometimes you just don't have time to do a full nail art! And that goes doubles for all the mommies!

  4. That is a really pretty girly Springlike mani. I like the stickers you used, they are a good size and look like painted on nail art. Stickers are great for when you are in a hurry but want something artsy or if you aren't really good with nail art in general. I started with stickers too.

  5. I love nail stickers, and most of the time when I use them I feel like I'm cheating :D so I understand you, but like you said it's not always we have enough time to do a proper nail art with stamping or freehand :)

  7. I also have the drawer-o-stickers sitting unused since I started stamping. I'll peek in at them on occasion, tell them I miss them and that I'm thinking of them, then shut them away again with a twinge of guilt....

  8. @ashley, I'm glad you like them! There are lot of different styles to choose from, which is how I ended up with lots of stickers. The great thing is, the rhinestones are part of the stickers so really easy manicure! :)

@Paint Those Piggies!, Thank you very much! The flowers are indeed just what we need for spring. I'm so glad you like it :)

@Rose, Yes! I completely agree it is so much quicker and very effective. I have lots of cute stickers that need to be used. I'm impressed by any mommies who even have time to paint their nails let alone do nail art :)

    @Elaine, thank you! :)

@Cin, Thank you! I'm glad to hear that so many people either started with stickers or approve their use in a hurry. I need to start incorporating them a bit more :)

@Mari, Thank you for understanding! :)
I love the way you incorporate stickers into your freehand nail art. It doesn't look like cheating when you do it! :)

@Suzi, they are my memories also, not often used although produce a nice, quick result. I'm glad you like the manicure :)

@maRyya, thank you very much! :)

@Stacy, LOL! I also usually look at mine apologetically and move on. Need to start using them more on the run :)

@Angelica, thank you so much! :D
