Mardi Gras!

Between Chinese New Year, Mardi Gras and Valentines Day, this week is full of excuses to try some themed nail art. I took advantage of my extended weekend and went a bit crazy playing with my polishes. Mardi Gras gave me the chance to go a bit outside my comfort zone with bright colors and embellishments  It might not be my proudest manicure, but it sure was fun to make...

I started out with a base of Barielle Sunshine and sponged with Barielle Lily of the Valley and Wet 'n Wild Buffy the Violet Slayer. I did actually stamp over that, but it didn't come through, so we'll just pretend that I didn't. Instead I used glitter and bullion beads to make a mask and bead strands...

I really need to get more metallic bullion beads as the glass ones just didn't give me the effect that I really wanted. Love the gold strands though...

Let me know what you think of this!

Have a wonderful day :)

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

  8. Great manicure, I just love the combination of everything! :) Reminds me of smth oriental though, instead of Mardi Gras - but we all have our very own associations in our heads :)

  9. @ritterbraten, I'm glad you like it. It didn't come out quite as I had planned. The colors were a bit too sheer and blended more than I wanted. At least they were Mardi Gras themed and it was fun to make :D
