OPI Skyfall - Part 2

Today I have swatches of the second half of the OPI Skyfall collection to share with you. If you missed the first half, be sure to check it out here. I must say that I'm quite enjoying this holiday collection where nearly half to the polishes refer to life or death in the name. That might be a first for a holiday collection. I hope you'll enjoy these swatches...

Moonraker
A pewter gray metallic with a chrome finish. I was prepared to dislike this one, but it really surprised me. My first try reacted badly with the base coat, bunching it up and making a complete mess. The second time around I skipped the base coat and just applied two coats of Moonraker to bare nails. The coats went on much smoother, but very streaky. The surprise came when the polish dried and the streaks evened out creating a smooth metallic surface. It does show every little flaw in the nail, but I like the polish overall...

Tomorrow Never Dies
A rich purple with blue and purple shimmer. Some might call this one blurple. I was convinced that my camera would photograph this blue, but am happy to report it did capture some purple, although it is even more purple than this in real life. The application was great, two coats for full coverage...

The Living Daylights (over OPI Skyfall)
A clear base with large hex glitter in silver, champagne gold, teal and peach. The color combination is very unique and lovely. It goes well over most colors in this collection, but I chose to layer it over the name sake Skyfall. With the first coat, the glitter bunched up a bit in spots, but by second coat I was able to get good coverage. This is with a top coat to tame the glitter a bit...

On Her Majesty's Secret Service
A complex polish composed of flecks of blue, gold, purple and more. The overall appearance is a charcoal gray foil. It is very sparkly and blingy and definitely right up my alley with the color. This is probably my second favorite out of the collection. It took three coats to build up to full coverage. No top coat in the swatches...

Maybe it is just me, but the more complex a polish the more I love it...

Live and Let Die
A dark forest green with a gold fleck. This is absolutely my favorite in the whole collection. The formula is great with full coverage in two coats. The flecks are very prominent and don't hide or get lost in the dark base. A few months ago I created a franken that looked similar, but badly stained my nails so I never posted it. I'm glad to have this non-staining beauty in my life now. This is with no top coat...

Just look at those beautiful gold flecks!..

The World is Not Enough
A complex shade of brown, pink, gold (and more) flecks. The overall color is a nice sparkly taupe. The finish on this is the same as On Her Majesty's Secret Service. This one is a bit more sheer and took four coats to build up to full coverage. I would try layering it next time to enjoy the sparkle and beauty without having to apply four coats...

  4. @Angie, thank you! I was prepared for it to be bad, but the way it smoothed out really explained the bizarre formula. I do like it as well
