Cagedbird Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review

I was recently contacted by Sarah of Cagedbird Nail Lacquer with an offer to review a couple of her custom creations. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try out her glittery beauties. Not sure what to expect, I peeked at other swatches online and waited anxiously to see what she chose for me to try. What I got were two mini bottles that took my breath away. The colors she picked for me were just perfect. I suspect it was a ploy all along since now I want full size bottles!...

Midnight in Paris
A black jelly base with tiny and even tinier glitter. From the "larger" tiny glitter I can see red, blue and fuchsia. The very tiny glitter is silver and holo and all sorts of gorgeous. It really resembles a galaxy or a night sky. These photos do a really poor job of capturing the true beauty and playfulness of the glitter. I only needed two coats for full coverage as the base is very pigmented. I did use a top coat with this manicure...

Lots of colorful and sparkly glitter in this black jelly. I was happy that it didn't get lost in the dark base...

Electric Angel (layered over Maybelline Cool Couture)
A thick clear suspension base with large silver, teal and black hex glitter as well as smaller black and teal glitter. I couldn't take my eyes off this little bottle when I first saw it, the teal glitter is just stunning. My first instinct was to try it over a black base to make the teal pop, but when I realized there was black glitter in there I changed my mind and chose to wear it over a dark gray instead. I love how these look together and really didn't want to take it off. The glitter did tend to gather at the tips, but by no means was impossible to get good coverage. I used one thick coat over my base color, but it probably would have been better to use two thinner coats to allow it to dry faster. Swatches are with a top coat...

I adore the color combo! This glitter bomb is just gorgeous...
