Comparison: Sinful Colors Zeus vs Barielle Slate of Affairs

I just wanted to show you a quick comparison of Sinful Colors Zeus and Barielle Slate of Affairs*. I have yet to do a full swatch or manicure with Zeus, however you can see a full swatch of Slate of Affairs in yesterday's post here.

The two of them have a very similar base color, but what makes them different is the shimmer. You can see it right away by looking at the bottles...

Sinful Colors Zeus has a purple shimmer while Barielle Slate of Affairs has a blue shimmer. The base color in my opinion is the same. In terms of application, Zeus has a denser formula and a stronger shimmer as it translates to the nail. Two coats plus a top coat of each color is shown below...

It is interesting to see what effect the shimmer has on the polish. Zeus to me appears to be warmer because of the purple shimmer compared to the cooler Slate of Affairs with the blue shimmer...

A closeup of the two...

At the end of the day, there are no dupes to report here. Happy to have both in my collection :)

Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)

  1. Hey! I actually really like the 2 of these together as a manicure because they are similar enough not to notice until you get close and then it would really make you look or wonder if your eyes were playing tricks. Thanks for the comparison I like both.

  3. Thank you so much for the comparison!! I have both in my wish list, but I never thought they were that close. I decided to cross one out, but can't define which, they are both so pretty!

  4. @Thejewellsparkle, yes it would be a nice twist! Although I showed this to my bf and he didn't see a difference at all, so the subtlety might be lost on some :)

@Raggio, I'm glad you like it! They are different when looking up close :)

@ritterbraten, not sure if I helped or made more trouble for you! I'd be curious to know which one stayed on your list :)
